Coffee Grind Sizes
Most home coffees brewing fanatics fail at brewing coffee before they even begin. Why soo? A lot of people doesn`t know if coffee has different grind levels. All the grind levels has their own special brew methods.
There are a lot of factors to consider when making the perfect cup of coffee, but it can be argued that nothing is as important as grind size.
First of all, you must know what kind of brew methods you have at your home, then you are able to choose grind size. This is very important if you want to get a delicate coffee taste in the result.
There are some of coffee grind sizes, but at the common there are two sizes that you can choose easily between fine grind or coarse grind. and now What is the different between those two grind sizes? Do not skip to read this important part! Let`s learn and brew your coffee perfectlly.
1. Fine Grinded
If you have espesso machine at you home, then this grind is a great choice. Of course, tuning an espresso machine requires you to coarsen up or make fine your coffee grind, but generally speaking, finely ground coffee is a good benchmark espresso grind. A fine grind will be similar in size and feel to that of sugar. It should also be slightly coarser than a grind used for a regular espresso maker. Fine grind is required because of the short time the coffee grind comes in contact with water. Pressure builds up in the espresso maker which forces the water through the fine grinds.
2. Coarse Grinded
If you have french press brew method at home, then you must choose this grind size because the coffee is steeped in boiling water, the contact time between the water and coffee is much longer, which requires a coarser grind. This grind is distinct, chunky, pieces of coffee beans. So do not wrong to choose coffee grind size if you want to get a delicate coffee taste in the result.
If you are looking for more complex explainations, there are also another coffee grind sizes beside those two. Another grind size is such as Extra Coarse grind, this one is good for cold brew coffee. Extra coarse coffee grinds should look like peppercorns. They’re best used for cold brews or toddy’s, and they’re perfect for lengthy submersions in water. then there is also medium coarse grind this one perfect for pour over brew method while medium grind is perfect for drip over brew method.
